Beauty Besty community guidelines were created to ensure well-being and satisfaction for all! Our community guidelines are intended to be a resource as we establish our presence as trailblazers in the on-demand beauty world. Beauty Besty revolutionized the way individuals beautify while empowering beauty businesses owners to thrive.
Beauty Besty is North America’s premier mobile app platform dedicated to connecting beauty consumers and professionals.
Every member and participant of Beauty Besty is equally important to us. From the administration and corporate level to the Beauty Besty professionals and the consumers, everyone is respected, valued and cared for. Everyone has a legal right to be treated with respect, dignity and humility. Everyone has a right to a safe experience and environment.
We expect each participant of Beauty Besty to treat each other with respect, dignity, and kindness. This includes, but is not limited to, communications via any of our Beauty Besty Concierge chats, and Beauty Besty Professional chats in person, via email or on the telephone.
Ratings and Reviews:
The Beauty Besty App allows all professionals to rate their experience with a client. As well, all customers have the ability to rate and review their experience with their professional. All ratings and reviews are important to us. By taking part in submitting a rating or review, you are helping to strengthen and build the Beauty Besty community. We kindly ask you to be as truthful as possible. We do not accept or tolerate any “trolling,” negative, or foul language on our reviews.
If you have been given a higher rating, congratulations! You are doing an amazing job!
Beauty Besty requires all Beauty Besty professionals to maintain a 4/5 annual rating to ensure quality for all.
Beauty Besty reserves the right to address any review or rating, both positive or negative, which may assist us in improving our community and success. Beauty Besty reserves the right to disable any user for negative or profane comments and harassment. Beauty Besty reserves the right to disable your account (customer or professional) without notice in the incident of criminal activity, poor quality assurance, not adhering to our Beauty Besty guidelines, compromising safety and/or reviews in which we have looked into and find are unacceptable.
Health and Safety Guidelines:
Keeping one another safe: Health and safety are crucial for all in the service industry. By understanding how we can each play our part, we are helping to ensure everyone can thrive on Beauty Besty, both professionally and as customers, by creating a lasting experience of satisfaction.
Beauty Besty has the expectation of maintaining the latest in industry and government-level sanitation and professional standards, abided by and executed for the safety and well-being of all professionals and customers.
Please follow the government rules and regulations for Covid-19. Each business is to operate in accordance with the guidelines/laws set by municipal, provincial and federal governments on Covid-19.
Consultations are complimentary and begin at the start of every appointment. We recommend all businesses have consultations with clients to discuss with you key features of your appointment such as duration and photos (if needed for a visual example). During this time, it is crucial that you express and advise your beauty professional of any and all health concerns, allergies, pregnancy, contraindications, etc., that may affect your service.
As the customer, you have the right to inspect any tools being used for your service and may inquire about the sanitation, treatment, or care you are receiving.
As a professional, it is your moral responsibility and the law to ensure you abide by all provincial and federal sanitation and service regulations to ensure safety for all. Please refer to the links below, should you require further information or have questions about your professional responsibilities.
As a professional, it is your right to operate in a safe work environment. Should you ever feel that your well-being and safety is being jeopardized, it is your right to leave.
Professional Mobile Equipment:
As a professional, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have all required tools/supplies to perform your professional services. This includes but is not limited to towels, massage table (aesthetics, massage, cosmetic injectables, facials, waxing, etc.) Hair towels, paper towels, etc. You are not permitted to operate as a professional on the Beauty Besty App if you do not have the required mobile tools/products to do your job.
We take great satisfaction in our level of customer service and professionalism at Beauty Besty. It is mandatory that you maintain a high level of sanitation and personal hygiene in order to operate on Beauty Besty. This includes but is not limited to clean, appropriate clothing/attire. We recommend adopting a low scents restriction to respect allergies and sensitivities of all. We recommend you do not wear heavy perfume/cologne scents which may affect a clients sensitivity. Please respect the requests on the client in their home, office, etc. which includes removing your out door shoes.
Appointment Clean up:
Beauty Besty thrives off of providing professionalism and convenience without compromising quality! All professionals are required to take every step necessary in order to ensure they are working within a clean environment during and after each provided service. This may include but may not be limited to, disposing of garbage pertaining to your appointment, bringing a portable hand vacuum to clean up any hair, etc.
Beauty Besty Concierge:
The Beauty Besty app has been designed with the professional and customer in mind so all can feel comfortable, valued, and empowered to beautify and thrive! We offer a direct chat system to our Beauty Besty Concierge customer service team, as well as links to direct chats to discuss any information pertaining to your upcoming appointment with a professional. As well, we offer a dual rating system for both the customer and professional which includes a profile picture on each profile. It is your right and responsibility to only accept services from professionals listed on their profile and ensure the photo matches them in order to assume safety. It is your right to also ask the professional to offer physical proof of profession at the location on appointment, such as but not limited to: Registered Massage Therapy, Ontario’s College of Trades Hairstyling Trade Certificate, Registered Nurse License, etc.
Any injuries incurred during or after your appointment should be treated by medical personnel only.
What is Ontario Regulation 136: Personal Service Settings all about?
As of July 1st, 2018, the new Ontario Regulation 136: Personal Service Settings came into effect. This brand new regulation sets out the requirements that owners and operators must comply with to offer safe services and reduce the risk of infection to the public and personal service workers.
The regulation covers settings that provide personal services, including electrolysis, eyelash/eyebrow tinting and eyelash extensions, facials, hair removal (laser, sugaring, threading, waxing), hairdressing and barbering, massages, micro-pigmentation, nail services (manicures and pedicures), piercings (body and ear), skincare services, tanning, tattooing, and other aesthetic services.
What are the requirements for ensuring equipment is sanitary?
As per Section 10 (4) of Ontario Regulation 136, reusable equipment must be cleaned and disinfected or sterilized as often as necessary to prevent disease transmission, and:
Is cleaned and disinfected or sterilized between each use; or
Is covered with a single-use disposable cover that is discarded after each use.
As per Section 10 (5), equipment and instruments that are designated for single-use or made of a material that does not withstand cleaning and disinfection or sterilization must be discarded immediately after use.

Health Standards Guidelines for Aestheticians
As per Terms and Conditions 4.2.2 Cancellation of Appointments. You may cancel any appointment with 24 hours or more notice and we will return 100% of the Fee paid. If you cancel an appointment with less than 24 hour notice we will return 50% of the Fee paid, provided the Service Provider is not on route to the appointment. If the Service Provider is on route to your appointment 100% of the Fee paid is non refundable. If your Professional is unable to reach you at the time of your booking, they will message you via the Beauty Besty Concierge app chat in order to file this issue. After 10 minutes, they have the right to leave and you will be charged in full for your appointment. Late for the appointment? Please utilize the Beauty Besty Concierge in your app to let your customer/Beauty Besty Professional know!
Beauty Besty Gift Cards:
You can send the gift of beauty to all of your loved ones via your Beauty Besty Customer App. Simply login>Menu>Gift Card>Purchase and Redeem. All gift cards are sent via email and are uploaded into the “wallet” as cash upon redemption.
All Beauty Besty gift cards/certificates are non transferable and not replaceable if lost or stolen and should be treated as cash. Beauty Besty Inc. is not responsible for loss, theft, or mutilation of this card/certificate. Beauty Besty gift card/certificate cannot be returned, and cannot be redeemed for cash except in accordance with applicable law. Face value of card/certificate is in Canadian dollars. Unauthorized resale will invalidate this card/certificate. You can not purchase gift cards with Beauty Besty Loyalty Dollars.
Beauty Besty Inc. does not assume any responsibility and shall not be liable for any injury, loss, claim, cost, damage, or any special, exemplary, punitive, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise which arises out of or is in any way connected with (i) your use and redemption of this card .
